Thesis Title: Towards a Monumental Ephemerality: Artists' Interventions as a contribution to placemaking

Dr. Sher Doruff
Dr. Ryya Bread

About

The research explores how artists’ interventions can develop and sustain a public intimacy with place, as a transitional step towards place-making.

Through the adaptation of Permaculture design principals, OBREDIM, the research explores how artists can contribute to the process of place-making through the creation of bespoke / context responsive projects and sustained intervention.

This investigation aims to develop an inter-disciplinary, sustainable model of practice that engages with the ethical concerns inherent in the process of place-making and relevant for the 21st Century.
