About
I am a member of the Royal Irish Academy and Emeritus Professor in the School of Politics and International Relations, UCD, Dublin. I am a founder member and Vice President of the European Inter University Centre for human rights and democratisation. I am a research associate of the Institute of British Irish Studies (SPIRe, Dublin).
My research interests cover European political theory from the 17th century onwards, and current international political theory, the philosophy of human rights, and liberalism. I will be adding papers and other materials to this site in the course of the next few months.
