About
I received a PhD from School of History and Archives in University College Dublin. My research concerns differing attitudes towards everyday life and urban space in postwar France, as expressed in the work of philosopher Henri Lefebvre, avant-garde group the Situationist International, and novelist Georges Perec. I am currently based in the UCD Humanities Institute of Ireland, where, between 2005 and 2007, I was a doctoral scholar. In 2007 I was awarded a postgraduate scholarship by the Irish Research Council for the Humanities and Social Sciences (IRCHSS). I also work as a freelance journalist, and have written for the Guardian (UK), the Irish Times and the Belfast Telegraph. I am a co-editor at 3:AM magazine.
