About
Stephen Quinlan is an IRCHSS Government of Ireland PhD candidate at the UCD School of Politics and International Relations (SPIRe). He commenced the Structured PhD programme in September 2008 and is based in the UCD Geary Institute. The focus of his PhD research is youth electoral participation in a comparative context.
Previously, Stephen completed a BA (Hons) in Politics and History at University College Dublin in 2006 and a First Class Honours MA in Comparative Politics in 2007. He then went on to serve as a Research Assistant at the UCD Public Opinion and Political Behaviour Programme in the year preceding the commencement of his PhD.
Stephen was an International Council for Canadian Studies Research Fellow at the Canadian Research Chair in Electoral Studies at the Université de Montréal between September and December 2011. He was also awarded the Party Politics Journal award for the best research paper presented at the ECPR Summer School Political Parties and European Democracy in 2009.
